What is College Wrangler?
College Wrangler is a tracker for the whole college-application journey — academics, extracurriculars, employment, awards, college research, visits, applications, essays, scholarships, and recommendation letters — all in one place, with an auto-generated resume built from everything you log.
Who is it for — students, parents, or both?
Both. Every student has their own account and owns their data. A parent or guardian can be linked to a student's account to follow along, and — depending on the access level the student or parent-purchaser sets — can also help keep things up to date.
How does parent access work?
There are two access levels: read-only (a parent can see everything but can't add or edit anything) and read-write (a parent can add and edit entries just like the student can). Which level a parent gets depends on who's paying: if a parent buys the subscription and adds their child, that parent automatically gets read-write access. If a student buys their own subscription and invites a parent, the student chooses the access level at invite time.
Can access be changed or revoked later?
Yes. Whoever originally granted the access — the student (if they sent the invite) or the parent (if they're the paying account owner) — can change the access level or revoke it entirely at any time from their Profile page.
Is my information private?
Your data is visible only to you and any parent you've explicitly linked (or who linked you, if they're the paying account owner). We don't sell student data, and a parent with read-only access can never edit or delete anything — that boundary is enforced at the database level, not just hidden in the interface.
What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription?
Your account and everything you've logged stays intact — a lapsed subscription doesn't delete your history. Some features may be limited until the subscription is renewed.
What's the difference between the 1-page and Detailed resume views?
The 1-page view is a condensed summary meant to look like an actual printable resume — a GPA line, a few highlighted activities, and top honors. The Detailed view lists everything you've logged, organized by section, useful for pulling information into a Common App activities list or sharing with a counselor.
Can I use College Wrangler on my phone?
Yes — the whole app is responsive and works in any modern mobile browser, no app download required.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Use the support button in the top-right corner of the app (the question-mark icon) to email us or give us a call — we read every message.
